Central Asia Barometer Survey Wave 6

Country: Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan.

Dates: 30.10.2019 - 18.12.2019

Research Design: The goal of this project was to obtain a reliable understanding of public opinion in several countries. The survey included questions about media usage, the political and economic situation in each country, attitudes towards the government, and opinions on other countries; in addition, the questionnaire provided demographic information, such as age, education level, religion, and employment status, among others. Fieldwork was conducted simultaneously in the five target countries. The sample size was of 1500 in each country. To obtain a nationally representative sample in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan,  a combination of stratification and cluster sampling was used.  In each country, all of the regions were included in the sample frame and selection process. All of the interviews were completed on a tablet; contact data, however, was recorded via paper and pencil. Respondent selection in all countries was done with a Kish Grid programmed on a tablet.
