Compensation: At the moment, stipends are provided on an exceptional basis depending on the trainees' performance. We encourage candidates to seek external funding

Description
Fellows assist CAB’s research, communications, and funding programs. Selected fellows get an opportunity to publish op-ed articles featuring CAB Survey data, which measures public opinion all over Central Asia twice a year. Activities may include assistance in desk research, translation, editing, data analysis, event organization, preparing outreach materials, updating and harmonizing databases, and other CAB projects. Fellows get an opportunity to get first-hand experience in applied research projects in Central Asia, develop their Russian and local language skills, and build long-term relationships with Central Asian researchers and practitioners affiliated with CAB.
Qualifications
- Strong interest and background in the social sciences and Central Asia
- The third or final year of a first-level university degree
- Graduate students are highly encouraged to apply
- Strong writing skills and fluency in English, knowledge of Russian or of local languages is a plus
- Microsoft programs, including Excel for data-analysis (SPSS or Stata is desirable)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work both individually and in a team
