The Central Asia Barometer seeks a recruiter and moderator for focus group discussions in Uzbekistan for International Conflict Research Project.

Project Location: Tashkent, Samarkand

The project plans to run 17 focus groups with 4 participants in each group.
FGD Moderator
The moderator is the person who leads the focus group discussion. She or he is responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of the discussion, managing the process and dynamics of the group, introducing appropriate questions and ideas for the group's response, and ensuring that the client's objectives are met.
Job responsibilities:
- Familiarise themselves with the FGD toolkit
- Develop a schedule for focus group discussions in two cities together with the recruiter
- Conduct the FGDs in two cities according to the standards (travel expenses and accommodation in the second city will be covered)
- Ensure a relaxed environment for the focus group discussion participants
- Ensure that all questions are accurately answered by each focus group participant
- To provide quality audio recordings of each focus group discussion
- Ensure adequate and timely communication with the client
- Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner and provide accountability

Recruiter
The recruiter is the person who selects participants for FGDs and co-creates and composes the FGDs according to the client's requirements.
Job responsibilities:
- Become familiar with the requirements for the selection of focus group participants and the exact number for each location
- Think through channels for selecting participants
- Receive completed prescreening forms for all potential FGD participants
- Draw up a list of potential participants
- To compose composition of the focus groups
- Keep a reserve in case of cancellations
- Ensure adequate and timely communication with the client
- Complete tasks and reporting in a timely manner
- Schedule the FGD together with the moderator

Administrative assistant
Central Asia Barometer is an independent, non-profit regional center of applied social research in Central Asia with a headquarters in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. We measure the social, economic, and political "atmosphere" in the countries of Central Asia and conduct applied social research, the results of which help our partners make data-based decisions in the best interests of the region’s citizens.
We are looking for a full-time administrative assistant to join our office in Bishkek to support the daily operation of CAB, as well as project activities.
Deadline: April 15
Eligibility:
- Perfect written and oral communication skills in English and Russian
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in social sciences
- Experience in grant reporting, documentation, formal correspondence
- Experience working in international teams
- Strong interest in Central Asia studies/applied social research
- Total work experience not less than 2 years (including internships)
- Candidates with work experience with grant documentation and reporting will be given preference
Duties:
- Provide general administrative support in the office and project management
- Assist with coordination with local/international partners
- Maintain organizational reporting systems
- Handle contracts, documentation, reporting
- Organize logistics for meetings, seminars, conferences
- Interpretation and translation of documentation and other materials
Specific job duties:
- Set up and maintain simple files. Assist in preparing and administering office accounts and records. Enter, update, and retrieve information stored in files and databases;
- Schedule and coordinate meetings and appointments. Maintain an office calendar. Make travel arrangements following specific instructions and keep a travel itinerary;
- Support office by using automated equipment such as facsimile machines, personal or networked computers and printers, copy equipment, voice messaging and electronic mail systems, and telephone equipment;
