Some insights from the latest CAB snap poll on the presidential elections and referendum in Kyrgyzstan

The poll was conducted over the phone from 9 through 17th of December of 2020 with a national sample of 1000 respondents of voting age (18+). Results are accurate with a margin of error of ±3.09% 95 times out of 100.

More than 80% of research participants rather or completely support the strengthening of powers of the President of KR and reduction of powers of the Government and JK, at that, the majority of respondents support the reduction of the presidential term from 6 to 5 years. It is also worth noting that 30% of the population oppose the abolition of the ban on the re-election of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic. Regarding the formation of the People's Kurultai, more than a quarter of respondents oppose this initiative.

As for the form of government in Kyrgyzstan, 80% of respondents chose a presidential republic. More than 5% of respondents found it difficult to answer this question.
